Reducing the Risk of Re-traumatization in Therapy: IN-PERSON CLASS

2 Oct 2026
Reno, NV

Description

This presentation emphasizes the necessity of including the body in trauma-informed care. The presentation addresses an important, often overlooked challenge in counseling: how to treat trauma without triggering and re-traumatizing our clients.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, participants will:

  • Reduce the risk of re-traumatization by understanding the need to include the experience of the body in trauma reprocessing.

  • Practice using the five core organizers of experience for mindful awareness of the present moment to discern dual awareness.

  • Define the window of tolerance and describe how to use this language in trauma treatment
