This presentation emphasizes the necessity of including the body in trauma-informed care. The presentation addresses an important, often overlooked challenge in counseling: how to treat trauma without triggering and re-traumatizing our clients.
By the end of this presentation, participants will:
Reduce the risk of re-traumatization by understanding the need to include the experience of the body in trauma reprocessing.
Practice using the five core organizers of experience for mindful awareness of the present moment to discern dual awareness.
Define the window of tolerance and describe how to use this language in trauma treatment
